Miss. Tizyo Bulaka is a Commercial Transactions and Dispute Settlement Lawyer with more than 7 years post qualification experience. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the University of Zambia and a Master of Law in International Commercial Law (LLM) from City University of London. She also has received adequate advanced commercial training offered by leading firms in the United Kingdom facilitated through the International Flagship Programme for African Lawyers (ILFA) in areas such as contract negotiation and drafting, oil and gas, public private partnerships, international investment, commercial arbitration, private equity funds and structuring private equity deals in Africa, introduction to Loan Markets Association, loan agreements and bonds, joint ventures and project finance. In addition, she has received advanced training in Commercial law through the Law Association of Zambia and Advanced Training on Taxation and Ethics through the Law Association of Zambia.

Ms Bulaka has distinguished vast experience in projects, projects finance, tax, international trade, corporate governance, intellectual property, corporate structuring, public and private partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, mining, international investment, litigation, energy, commercial and treaty arbitration. Ms Bulaka has represented a broad category of Clients including multinational corporations, local companies, state owned enterprises, local authorities, societies and clubs.

Ms Bulaka has experience working with Messrs. Chifumu Banda & Associates as Senior Associate and Zambia Credit Guarantee Scheme as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary. She has also worked as Secondee Lawyer with Pinsent Masons, one of the leading global firms in the United Kingdom and also as Secondee Lawyer at Hardwick Chambers through the Commercial Bar Association international placement. Ms Bulaka is also a non-executive director for Urban Brands Group Hotel.

Ms Bulaka has proven leadership as she has served as Convener of the Law Reform Committee of the Law Association of Zambia. She has provided leadership in the review of the Draft Constitution of Zambia, 2016, the Companies Act, No. 10 of 2017, the Constitutional Development Fund Act, the Corporate Insolvency Act as Convener. She has also provided leadership when she served as Member of the Technical Committee of the Zambia Institute of Marketing tasked with the responsibility of reviewing Advertising Standards. She has also represented the Law Association of Zambia at the OASIS forum. Lastly, she has served as First Secretary of the Junior Lawyers Committee at the Law Association of Zambia.

Tizyo Bulaka worked in the United Kingdom and Zambia, and joined CBA Cross Border Associates as Legal Adviser in Lusaka, Zambia in July 2019.
