Lance Lawson is an international tax and cross-border corporate structuring specialist. He assists clients in M&A dealmaking as well as strategic fiscal optimization strategies by assisting them set-up investment holding companies and/or trusts in strategic jurisdictions for cross-border trade and investment.

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Lance assists clients from all around the world, including the UK, EMEA, Americas, Asia and Australia, who want to penetrate new markets, in both Africa and elsewhere. Africa is full of opportunity and South Africa, and Mauritius are the gateway jurisdictions into the African continent, having the most Double Tax Agreements in place.

He has worked on a number of deals as lead adviser and dealmaker, one of which included a South African subsidiary of a NASDAQ listed company, CTrack, which was ultimately sold to Convergence Partners for US$90.0m. Over the years Lance has drawn his focus to the mining industry and built up an extensive network across Africa and South Africa. having worked with Koryx Copper as well as various mining Private Equity groups. Other sectors of interest include Technology, Agriculture, and Commercial Real Estate.

Lance is a licensed Real Estate and Business Brokering Principal, with his own brokerage firm. Lance also holds the Area Manager Southern Africa license with CBA for Hospitality deal making, assisting all commercial hospitality related transactions in the Sub-Saharan African region, including hotels, lodges and resorts.

He joined CBA as an associate M&A Advisor in December 2023.
