Job Position: Human Resources Director

Description:

Our client was established in 1945, and has developed into one of the largest and leading carriers in the global container shipping industry with a global reach extending to over 120 countries, with a network of global and regional shipping services that connects businesses to strategic ports around the world. The company is owned by a major holding company.

The company is now looking to expand its operations in the Asia Pacific Region by appointing an experienced

HR Director, Asia Pacific Region

reporting to the Vice President of Global HR with 6-8 subordinates positioned in different countries in the region, based in Hong Kong.

Responsibility:

Oversee and coordinate all Human Resources activities within the region.

Provide world-class HR competencies and support to the regional management team in recruiting, coaching, developing and retaining talent.

Recommend specific HR initiatives for the shipping business in people management, Performance evaluation, compensation and benefits, staffing and recruitment, employee development and training.

Work with Country HR Managers to ensure HR policy compliance and service delivery within each business units and in Asia Pacific countries.

Work with Global HR counterparts to ensure employee issues and concerns are identified, prioritized, and attended to, with particular emphasis on recruitment and retention.

Provide employee development competencies and support to VP HR and each Business units.

Provide HR competencies and support in the development and delivery of shipping-specific training programs – consistent with Global HR policies and standards.

Support country managers in conducting performance appraisals – consistent with policies and standards set by the Group.

Provide people analytics (employee retention rates, hiring velocity, headcount, organization design and structure, high-potential and watch list candidates) as require by the VP, Human Resources & the President of Group.

Build world-class HR practices for the Area shipping business by working with area managers to identify, attract and retain talent within the Company.

Reinforce Group culture, values and reputation and ensure compliance with Group HR policies.

Responsible for driving the end-to-end recruitment and selection process to meet the operational needs and business plans of the various business entities

Conduct orientation and issue employment contracts for new hires and manage exit interviews for resigned employees

Handle user system authorization requests and update/edit the role mapping of the user

Provide professional services in design total remuneration system to all business entities

Management reporting

Review benefit scheme in the region

Annual salary review & remuneration survey in the region
Participate in any ad hoc projects as assigned

Requirements

•Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline desirable.
•Solid HR management experience at senior management level gained in sizeable companies.
•Detailed mind, excellent leadership, team building and organization skills.
•Result-oriented and self-motivated, able to work under pressure..
•Well verse with Employment Ordinance and related legislation in Asia Pacific Region in particular China.
•Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (advantage).
•You live in Hong Kong or would be willing to move there.
